Stuart Pearce explains why he’s worried about Jude Bellingham as England star picks up yellow card in scuffle

Jude Bellingham scored his second England goal against Scotland, but also picked up another yellow card.

The Real Madrid mega star continued his sublime start to the season by tucking in a botched Andy Robertson clearance to put the visitors 2-0 up at Hampden Park.

The goal made it an impressive six goals in six games for club and country, but the 20-year-old’s half ended with a transgression.

A late challenge from Kalvin Phillips earned the Manchester City man a yellow card, but Bellingham then also went in the book for getting involved in the aftermath.

Jack Hendry also picked up a caution for the 42nd-minute scuffle, but Bellingham’s keenness to get involved provoked a response from England legend Stuart Pearce.

Pearce said on talkSPORT commentary: “The one thing that worried me a little bit is Bellingham was quick to get involved in the pushing and shoving straight away and there’s no need for that.

“He likes a tackle and if you’re going to go into major tournaments liking a tackle and getting involved pushing and shoving you’re going to soon find yourself out of the game.”
