Both teams head into Tuesday night’s game in Glasgow having enjoyed a successful time in their qualification campaigns for next summer’s Euros in Germany so far.
England dropped their first points of the campaign on Saturday evening in their 1-1 draw against Ukraine in Poland, putting an end to a four match winning streak that they’d been building since their defeat to France in the World Cup quarter final last December.
Gareth Southgate’s side still sitting comfortably atop the Group C table, with a six point lead over Ukraine in second though England have played a game more.
Scotland have been the surprise package of Euro qualification, being one of only three teams to have a 100% record after five matches.
Steve Clarke’s side have seemingly all but qualified for their second consecutive European Championship, having previously not qualified for a major tournament this century.
Scotland head into Tuesday’s friendly having won all of their last five matches, including a 3-0 win in Cyprus on Friday night, as well as all of their last six home matches, which includes a 2-0 win over three time European champions Spain back in March.
Both of the last two meetings between England and Scotland have ended in draws, the most recent of which coming in the group stage of Euro 2020 which ended goalless.
Scotland have only beaten England on one occasion in their last 12 meetings dating back to 1986, coming in a 1-0 win at Wembley in a Euro 2000 qualifying match back in 1999.
