Reds boss Jurgen Klopp is desperate to bolster the position before the transfer window shuts this week.

They have been interested throughout the summer but have ramped up their efforts on Wednesday.

Speculation has been rife over Gravenberch’s future over the transfer window after failing to break into the first team in Munich.

The 21-year-old had hotly tipped as one of the best young midfielders in the world when he moved to Bayern in the summer of 2022.

But it did not quite work out last season and he was largely reduced to substitution appearances from the bench.

While Liverpool have been monitoring the former Ajax ace throughout the summer, they are keen on wrapping up a deal as soon as possible.

There are just hours left in the transfer window, which is set to shut on Friday night at 11:00.

However, both Liverpool and Bayern are yet to make an agreement over a fee.

Discussions are being held over how much both clubs value Gravenberch before going forward with further negotiations.

If Liverpool deem the fee reasonable, they will go forward with submitting a formal offer.

Manchester United have also been interested in the Netherlands international but are set to go ahead with a move for Sofyan Amrabat instead.

Bayern are also keen on getting a replacement in and Thomas Tuchel is keen to reunite with Chelsea ace Conor Gallagher.
