United have scored just once in their opening two games that saw them beat Wolves 1-0 and lose 2-0 to Tottenham.
Erik ten Hag’s side have a depth of attacking talent, although it’s defender Raphael Varane who is the only player to make it onto the scoresheet so far.
Hojlund arrived at Old Trafford earlier in the summer from Atalanta in a £72million deal and is yet to play for the club.
He has been nursing a back injury he suffered in pre-season with his former side but could very well return to action on Saturday.
The Sun reports that United are hopeful he will at least make the bench for the visit of Forest in the Premier League.
Ten Hag has opted to start Marcus Rashford up front against Wolves and Spurs so far, despite his 30-goal season which saw him largely play on the wing last term.
However, such a selection hasn’t worked, with Anthony Martial also playing just five minutes off the bench over the two games.
United fans will be hoping that Hojlund can be the man to solve their scoring woes this season.

The 20-year-old netted ten goals in 34 appearances for Atalanta last season after bagging six for Sturm Graz in 2022.
Hojlund may well get his first taste of United action on Saturday, but their overall preparations could do with improvement.
It’s reported that they fell to a 3-0 defeat against Burnley in a behind-closed-doors friendly at Carrington on Wednesday.
United currently sit 12th in the Premier League table and will hope they can pick up the crucial three points against Forest on home turf.
