Rangers will have to win away at PSV Eindhoven on Wednesday evening to secure their place in the Champions League group stages. 

The Scottish giants were held to a 2-2 draw at Ibrox last week in the first leg of their play-off round clash with the Dutch outfit.

Goals from Abdallah Sima and Rabbi Matondo weren’t enough to seal a crucial win for Michael Beale’s side with Ibrahim Sangare and Luuk de Jong hitting back.

This is the second campaign running that the teams have met at this stage and Rangers will be hoping for the same outcome with a 1-0 in the Netherlands sending them through last year.

This Champions League play-off round second leg will take place on Wednesday, August 30. 

Kick-off at the Philips Stadion is scheduled for 8pm UK time. 

The game will be shown live on TNT Sports 1 with coverage beginning at 7:30pm.

PSV vs Rangers: Team news 

Centre-backs Andre Ramalho and Olivier Boscagli both picked up an injury in the first leg but are expected to be fit for the return clash. 

However, Armando Obispo, Patrick van Aanholt, Mauro Junio and Fredrik Oppegard will not be available for PSV. 

As for Rangers, they have no new injury concerns for the second leg but will remain without Steven Davis and Ridvan Yilmaz. 

Kemar Roofe and Tom Lawrence should feature from the bench despite picking up knocks at the weekend.

Rangers boss Beale has admitted that he wishes PSV didn’t know his side so well with this game being the fourth meeting in a year. 

He said: “PSV know we can score against them. They know our football club and everything about it. Sometimes I wish we were a secret but we’re not. 

“We played them last year and put a good face to our club in terms of how we approached the game and how resilient we were.

“We did the same on Tuesday night in the first leg. They’re a good team but we fought, harassed and pressured them.

“We gave them problems in terms of our speed and pressing. It’s important we do the same in midweek.

“I think there will be big spaces on the pitch because PSV will come for us. So it’s important that when we get our opportunities we take them.

“PSV will be a tough challenge because they’re a high quality team but we’ll go there and give it a right go. We have nothing to lose and everything to gain.”
