Paris Saint-Germain accepted offer from Premier League club for Kylian Mbappe but couldn’t agree personal terms

Paris Saint-Germain has reportedly accepted an offer from a Premier League club for Kylian Mbappe, but they have not reached an agreement on personal terms. The 24-year-old forward has been in a constant battle with the Ligue 1 champions after refusing to sign a new contract. Mbappe is determined to leave PSG this summer. Previously, PSG accepted a €300m offer from Saudi Pro League side Al Hilal, but Mbappe turned down the chance to move to the Gulf State. According to Portuguese journalist Bruno Andrade, PSG also accepted an offer from an unnamed Premier League side. However, there has been no agreement between all parties involved. While Chelsea has been loosely linked with a move for Mbappe, Real Madrid remains the most realistic destination. Mbappe’s contract expires at the end of the upcoming season, and PSG officials are seeking around £250m for his services. PSG believes that Mbappe has already agreed to join Real Madrid in 2024 but insists that he will not leave on a free transfer. Mbappe has been training with PSG’s ‘B team’ since Monday, which includes a mix of youngsters and first-team outcasts. The club has also stopped selling his shirts and removed his poster from outside the Parc des Princes. In contrast, shirts of Chelsea-linked Neymar and Messi, who joined Inter Miami last month, are still available for sale. In an interview with France Football in June, Mbappe criticized PSG as a “divisive” club and claimed that his performances are trivialized because it is harder to impress in France. He expressed understanding for people’s perception but also highlighted the consumer society’s tendency to expect continuous excellence. Mbappe’s relationship with the PSG hierarchy seems to be beyond repair.
Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) have confirmed that they have accepted an offer from an unnamed Premier League club for French international, Kylian Mbappe, but were unable to agree personal terms between the two parties.

Kylian Mbappe is one of the most talked about footballers in the world. Having broken through at AS Monaco in his home country at the tender age of 17 and going on to score 66 goals in 106 games for PSG, it is little surprise that the top clubs in Europe are vying for his signature.

It had been reported that the Premier League club had lodged an offer for Mbappe of €200 million and PSG had accepted the bid. However, negotiations between both clubs and the player himself regarding the financial package he should receive as part of the transfer apparently reached an impasse and no agreement was able to be reached.

At just 22 years old, Mbappe will know he is entering the prime of his career and is likely seeking an offer that reflects such status. It is thought the club wanted to tie him down to less attractive financial terms for his age and experience, which Mbappe and his representatives were not willing to accept.

Real Madrid remain favourites to sign Mbappe this Summer, though it is hoped talks between the PSG forward and the Premier League club may yet reach a positive conclusion to see Mbappe move to England.
