Bayer Leverkusen winger Moussa Diaby is reportedly undergoing a medical at Aston Villa, according to talkSPORT. It appears that Diaby has turned down the opportunity to play alongside Cristiano Ronaldo at Al Nassr in Saudi Arabia, in favor of a move to Villa Park.

Young French winger Moussa Diaby has rejected speculation that he may join Juventus and link up with fellow countryman and club legend Cristiano Ronaldo. Instead, the Bayer Leverkusen ace has chosen to complete a medical in the coming days with Aston Villa.
In a twist of events, it was reported earlier this week that the 21-year-old had turned down a move to the Serie A champions in favour of the ambitious Premier League outfit. It is believed that Diaby has grown frustrated with Leverkusen’s lack of progress and sees a move to the Villians as an ideal opportunity for himself to kick-start his career.
Diaby, who has earned four senior caps for France, has not made a secret of his ambitions to reach the top level of European football, and the chance to link up with Frenchman Dean Smith at Villa Park, has clearly enticed the winger.
The promising youngster is highly rated in his homeland, having scored seven goals and providing seven assists in 33 appearances for Leverkusen last season in the Bundesliga. Villa supporters will be hoping that Smith can bring out the best in Diaby and help develop their vibrant attack.
Diaby’s signing would represent another statement of intent from the newly promoted side, and his electric performances in Germany have led to comparisons with other top French attackers, such as Paris Saint-Germain superstar Kylian Mbappe.
If Diaby is able to show glimpses of his talent at Villa, then we could be talking about one of the bargains of the season come the end of the campaign. He would link up with English trio Jack Grealish, John McGinn and Tyrone Mings, as well as £22.02 million summer arrival Ollie Watkins, as the Villians look to cement their top flight status next season.
