Chelsea are fighting against Liverpool for the Brighton midfielder, who has been one of their long-standing targets.
Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp confirmed earlier on Friday that they have agreed a deal with Brighton.
The Reds had a £111million bid for the Ecuadorian accepted on Thursday night – but reports suggest Caicedo still wants to join Chelsea.
talkSPORT understands Brighton will not accept anything less than this from Chelsea should they decide to submit a new offer.
As the saga unfolded on Friday, Caicedo started following the Blues on Instagram.
Despite the speculation, Pochettino was hush when asked about the 21-year-old’s potential move as the transfer saga intensifies.
“I think you know me very well, I never talk about players that don’t belong to us, I am so respectful,” he said in his press conference.
“We are working really hard to try to add more players to the squad, add quality. Of course if we have an update for you, the club will do.
“But at the moment, I don’t want to talk about players that don’t belong to us, that is really important to me, very respectful with the clubs and the player.
“But like any club, we are working really hard to try to add more quality and of course to reinforce the team, the squad.
“We are working hard, I’m so happy with Paul [Winstanley], Laurence [Stewart] and the owners, the relationship is really, really good and really close. At the moment so far, so good, we are so happy to work in this way.”
