Mohamed Salah wants to STAY at Liverpool amid Saudi Arabia interest, says Dominik Szoboszlai
Liverpool star Dominik Szoboszlai has confirmed that Mohamed Salah wants to stay at the club.
On deadline day, the Reds rejected a huge £150 million bid from Saudi Pro League champions Al Ittihad for the Egyptian.
But Szoboszlai has revealed that the legend wants to stay at the Reds.
With the Saudi Arabian transfer window remaining open until Thursday, Al Ittihad is reportedly willing to increase their offer for Salah. However, it seems that Salah has already made up his mind about his future.
Speaking after their 3-0 win over Aston Villa, Szoboszlai expressed his happiness about Salah’s decision to stay. He said, “We are really happy that he stayed. We were, of course, speaking between each other, but he wants to stay, he wants to be here, he wants to be with us. He stayed and we are really happy. He’s a great player, a great person… we need guys like him in the team, so we are happy.”
Meanwhile, Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp addressed the speculation surrounding Salah’s future, stating that he had no knowledge of any potential transfer. Klopp praised Salah’s performance against Aston Villa and emphasized his importance to the team, saying, “He’s a world-class player, no doubt about that, and I’m really pleased he is in my team.”
Salah scored his second goal of the season for Liverpool in the victory over Aston Villa. His overall tally for the club now stands at 188 goals in 309 appearances across all competitions.
Having been a key figure in Liverpool’s success since joining the club in 2017, fans will be delighted to see Salah remain at Anfield. He committed his future to the Reds last summer by signing a new three-year deal.
In addition to the news about Salah, talkSPORT has launched a new match center where fans can stay updated with the latest football fixtures, results, and standings. The match center provides comprehensive coverage of the Premier League, including fixtures, the league table, and all other league tables.
Overall, it is clear that Salah’s desire to stay at Liverpool has brought relief and joy to the club and its supporters. His contributions on and off the field make him an invaluable asset to the team.
Liverpool’s prized asset Mohamed Salah has been the subject of interest this transfer window, particularly from Saudi Arabian side Al-Hilal.
However, despite the potential rewards, the Egyptian attacker has shown a desire to remain at Anfield, according to RB Salzburg midfielder Dominik Szoboszlai.
Speaking to The Athletic, Szoboszlai said: “I was with Salah yesterday and we talked a bit. He told me he is staying at Liverpool.
“If he leaves, [Al-Hilal] would be very lucky to get such a player and of course he is going to make a difference. But he seems happy to stay.”
The 28-year-old, who penned a new long-term deal with the Club last summer, enjoyed a sensational second season with Liverpool -becoming one of the most complete players in the world.
His performances have earned him widespread recognition and several awards, including a third successive Premier League Golden Boot, a fourth Player of the Month award in the English topflight – and the African Footballer of the Year honour in February 2020.
Moreover, his contribution has been a major factor in the Reds’ recent successes, as he has won the Champions League, the UEFA Super Cup, the FIFA Club World Cup, and not least the 2019 Premier League title.
It’s good news all around for Liverpool fans then, who will be delighted to hear that Salah is not only keen on staying, but is also committed to ensuring the rebirth of the Reds continues.
