Manchester City legend Micah Richards revealed how Cristiano Ronaldo would wink at him on the pitch.

Richards came up against the five-time Ballon d’or winner on several occasions in the Premier League over the years.

Ronaldo was plying his trade at Old Trafford for Manchester United and Richards for their rivals Man City.

The former Sky Blues defender confessed the current Al Nassr star would leave him taken aback due to his skill after being beaten by him.

Richards told The Rest is Football podcast: “When I played against Ronaldo, wow, you couldn’t switch off for a second.

“He would come to be and do five stepovers in two seconds. And I just couldn’t believe what I was seeing he was such a genius.

“I was twisted and tangled before you knew it.

“He never said anything but he just used to wink at me all the time.

“He used to do a Cruyff chop and then he’d go past me on the inside and then just wink at me – I’d be swearing to myself.”

Ronaldo since leaving Man United, has starred for Al-Nassr, netted 20 goals in 24 matches.

The 38-year-old also hit another huge career milestone by scoring his 850th senior career goal in a 5-1 Al Nassr win over Al Hazm last Saturday.
