Mauricio Pochettino explains Moises Caicedo absence as Chelsea’s record signing misses Bournemouth clash

Mauricio Pochettinho has explained why Moises Caicedo was unavailable for Chelsea’s Premier League clash at Bournemouth.

Blues fans were dealt more bad news on Sunday afternoon when the matchday squad was revealed their trip to the south coast, and Caicedo’s name was nowhere to be seen.

Chelsea’s squad has been savaged by injuries this season, with ten players currently on the sidelines with a mixture of short-term and long-term issues.

But now it appears they can add Caicedo to this list to make it a full 11.

Pochettino has confirmed the club’s record £115million signing returned from international duty injured and did not even travel with the team to Bournemouth.

Speaking ahead of the Vitality Stadium outing, the Chelsea manager said: “Caicedo arrived back with a knock in his knee.

“We need to assess him in the next few days but he wasn’t available for today, that’s why he not here”.
