Manchester United star Marcus Rashford was left dumbfounded by his EAFC rating last year for one attribute: defending.
The 25-year-old has had a rollercoaster couple of years at Old Trafford as one of his toughest seasons was followed by his best.
Rashford had his best season last year at UnitedAFP
But Rashford was left fuming with his rating last year
Last season in Erik ten Hag’s debut campaign in charge, Rashford scored 30 goals in all competitions but the year before, he netted just four in the Premier League.
So that might have had an impact on the forward’s rating in FIFA23, which has since changed its name to EAFC this year.
Speaking to the Premier League, Rashford was taken through his specific ratings on his EAFC card from pace, shooting, passing, dribbling, defending and physical.
The United star was straight away flabbergasted by his lack of pace last year, exclaiming: “87? I can’t lie, I thought I should be 89/90.
“But if it was 87 last year… I am the same speed now… [I should be] 89. 87 is rude.”
When his pace was revealed to be 90, Rashford had a gleaming smile and said: “That is a good start. I think I am probably the fastest [at Man United].
When asked what he thought his shooting rating was last year, the striker said: “Shooting must have been 84?” But it was revealed that it was 82, which he replied and said: “I am going to have a word with them.”
Asked about this year’s edition, Rashford said: “It has got to be 85 or 87.” It was revealed he got an 86, to which he said: “Almost, we are doing well so far.”
Rashford could not believe some of his ratings
Including his defending, which he guessed incorrectly by 27 points
Further ratings for passing and dribbling were revealed to be 78 and 84 respectively before getting to defending, which Rashford was unsure of.
Taking a stab in the dark, the England international guessed he was 68 overall for defending but it turned out he got a 41, leaving the United star’s jaw on the floor.
“41?! Am I that bad?!” he said before taking a shot at this year’s rating. “42, I am shocked with this one, I can’t lie.”
To Rashford’s credit, he got this one spot on as his defending this year turned out to 42. “That’s alright,” he said.
Having improved last season from the campaign before, Rashford’s physical improved from 71 to 75, giving him a boost to his overall rating.
And he looked quite pleased when he was told that his overall rating had taken a jump from 81 to 85, saying: “Yeah, that is alright.”
