Manchester United star Antony told to take notes from Newcastle winger Anthony Gordon
Manchester United winger Antony has been told to use Newcastle’s Anthony Gordon as the blueprint to best utilise his talent.
The Brazilian has split opinion since his £85million switch from Ajax in 2022 due to his street-football approach.

Whilst boasting an abundance of raw skill, Antony has occasionally struggled to implement simplicity into his game, namely in his one-on-one duels.
When discussing Antony, talkSPORT Breakfast hosts Alan Brazil and Gabby Agbonlahor were in agreement that the 23-year-old should take notes from Gordon on how to create problems for full-backs.
“You see the way Gordon for Newcastle attacks full-backs, that’s what you’ve got to do,” said Brazil. “You’ve got to mix it up, go inside and outside, attack full-backs with pace and speed.
“He [Antony] doesn’t do it. You want him to do well, he’s a young boy.”
Former Aston Villa forward Agbonlahor heaped praise on Gordon for his end product and ability to probe defenders in various ways and advised Antony to take notes on the Magpies’ star.
He added: “That’s what he did, Gordon. There was one in the first half, he went on the inside. In the second half, there was close fast dribbling, he went outside Trent and got a cross in. Antony doesn’t do that.
“But Antony did have a better game at the weekend [against Nottingham Forest].
“With Antony, it’s inside, you know what way he’s going to go. As a striker you can’t make runs so he has to do better.”
