Manchester United fans left stunned as Scott McTominay makes it six goals in five matches for Scotland

Manchester United fans cannot believe what they are seeing after Scott McTominay’s latest heroics for Scotland.

While the midfielder is little more than a bit-part player at United now, for Scotland he remains a key star.

That’s now six goals in five games for his countryGetty

And he proved it with his sixth goal for the Tartan Army in five Euro qualifying matches – this time in a 3-0 win over Cyprus.

It was the Red Devils man to get on the end of a flick-on to score an early opener against the Mediterranean side.

And United fans have been blown away, including this one who said: “Why does he turn into prime Dalglish every time he plays for Scotland?”

Another said: “We are using him so wrong.”

While a third wrote: “Yet we don’t use him right.

“Steve Clarke has shown Mourinho, solskjaer, rangnick and ten hag how to use him.”

“Can’t. Stop. Scoring,” another put.

McTominay has had to contend with falling out of favour under Erik ten Hag at Old Trafford.

The signing of Sofyan Amrabat has only further underlined the lack of trust the Dutch coach has in him.

However, the new signing was injured this week on international duty and is facing a spell on the sidelines.

And McTominay’s performance for Scotland might make Ten Hag sit up and watch after a torrid start to the season.

Defeats to Tottenham and Arsenal have sucked all the optimism out of the club while injuries to Mason Mount and Luke Shaw have left them short.
