Man United take ‘undeserved’ lead after being let off by Cunha’s miss of the season contender
Manchester United were counting their blessing after taking a 1-0 lead shortly after Matheus Cunha put in an early nomination for ‘miss of the season’.
The Wolves star had the perfect opportunity to put his side ahead at Old Trafford after some fine work from Matheus Nunes, who ran through the heart of Man United.

After crossing the ball into the box, the ball fell to Cunha at the far post who fired an effort towards goal, but saw his effort clip the post as it flew into the stand behind.
The Brazilian forward couldn’t believe that he’d missed the target and knew that it could prove costly in the context of the game.
Discussing the miss on talkSPORT, Danny Murphy said: “It’s the worst miss of the season, that’s for sure.
“A really, really bad miss. One you never want to see again.”
But after riding their luck, Man United looked to punish Wolves and got their reward through a headed effort from Raphael Varane from close range.
The French defender darted off to celebrate with the supporters after putting the Red Devils 1-0 up, a lead that talkSPORT commentator Sam Matterface described as ‘undeserved’.
