Liverpool vs Karlsruher LIVE: Date, kick-off time, team news and how to follow pre-season clash with Mac Allister and Szoboszlai in action
Liverpool will begin their crucial pre-season campaign with a match against Karlsruher this week. The Reds are in need of perfect preparations after a disappointing season last year, where they finished without any silverware and outside of the Champions League spots. With their midfield department strengthened, Liverpool will travel to Germany for a training camp in the town of Donaueschingen. Their first test will be against Karlsruher, a team from the second tier of German football.
The match between Karlsruher and Liverpool is scheduled for Wednesday, July 19, with kick-off at BBBank Wildpark set for 5:30pm UK time. UK viewers can watch the game live on LFCTV, which is available on Sky channel 423 and Virgin Media channel 544. Alternatively, they can also stream the match for free on LFCTV Go by signing up for a one-month free trial.
In terms of team news, new signings Alexis Mac Allister and Dominik Szoboszlai are expected to make their unofficial debut for Liverpool. However, Curtis Jones and Harvey Elliott will not be available for the match as they are still on holiday following their success in the England U21’s Euro triumph. Both players will join the squad after the Karlsruher match. Liverpool’s only major injury concern is Thiago Alcantara, who is unlikely to be fit in time to feature.

Liverpool will be looking to add to their pre-season winning run as they take on Karlsruher at the Red Bull Arena in Austria on Thursday.
Jurgen Klopp’s team have been impressive in pre-season, with three victories from three games coming against Stuttgart, Salzburg and RB Leipzig.
They face a Karlsruher side who have also managed three wins from three, with Regionalliga Südwest victories against FC Heidenheim, Dynamos Dresden and FC Nürnberg.
Liverpool and Karlsruher will kick off at 7:30pm BST (2.30pm ET) on Thursday 8th August.
Liverpool are set to field a strong side against the German club, with new signings Diogo Jota and Kostas Tsimikas both expected to make their debuts.
Intriguingly, Thiago Alcantara could also make his debut, as the Spanish midfielder looks to get up to speed with his new teammates ahead of the new Premier League season.
Elsewhere, Mac Allister and Dominik Szoboszlai are both in line to feature for the Reds, while Karlsruher could hand debuts to summer arrivals Alexander Fuchs, Jannik Hofmann and Florian Pieper.
The match can be followed in live text commentary on the Liverpool Echo website. Alternatively, it will be shown worldwide on Liverpool’s official YouTube channel.
