Liverpool reach agreement with Al Ettifaq over Jordan Henderson fee with Steven Gerrard driving force behind move

Liverpool Football Club has reportedly reached a preliminary agreement with Saudi Arabian club Al Ettifaq for the sale of Jordan Henderson during the upcoming summer transfer window. The Liverpool captain has expressed his interest in moving to the Middle East, and manager Jurgen Klopp has been informed accordingly. It is understood that the Reds have agreed to sell Henderson for a fee of £12 million, with potential add-ons. The 33-year-old midfielder has already agreed to personal terms with Al Ettifaq. This transfer has been greatly influenced by Steven Gerrard, who recently took charge as the new manager of Al Ettifaq. Gerrard, who played alongside Henderson at Liverpool, expressed his desire to sign the England international. It is worth noting that Henderson was handed the captaincy by Gerrard in 2015. Reports have also emerged suggesting that Henderson has agreed to a lucrative contract worth £700,000 per week with the Saudi Pro League club. Further updates on this story will be provided. Liverpool Football Club have reached an agreement with the Al Ettifaq of Saudi Arabia to purchase star midfielder Jordan Henderson for an undisclosed fee. The English Premier League club’s long-term captain, Steven Gerrard, is believed to have been the driving force behind the move.

The 24-year-old Henderson, a product of Sunderland’s academy, joined the Reds in 2011 as one of Kenny Dalgish’s first signings. Since then, Henderson has been an important piece of the Liverpool side, helping the team to the UEFA Champions League and Europa League final in subsequent seasons.

Henderson’s move to Al Ettifaq is viewed as a chance for the midfielder to prove himself on a larger stage and gain invaluable experience in a different league.

It is worth mentioning that this is not the first time that Gerrard has been instrumental in making a transfer happen. During the January transfer window of 2016, the Liverpool legend persuaded Jurgen Klopp to bring in Daniel Sturridge and Roberto Firmino to Anfield, who have quickly become two of the most important players in the team.

It is clear that Gerrard still has a huge influence over Liverpool, even though he has now left to play for the Los Angeles Galaxy in the United States. His infectious passion and leadership qualities are clearly invaluable for the Merseyside club.
