Leeds fans mock Wilfried Gnonto transfer request with crying baby banner

Leeds fans have mocked wantaway forward Wilfried Gnonto with a banner depicting him as a baby.

The banner was unfurled before their home Championship clash with West Brom, and it was then seen in the Elland Road crowd.

And Leeds fans aren’t happyRex

It showed Gnonto’s head edited onto that of a baby in a nappy, and had the caption: “Waaaah waaaah I not wanna play in the Championship.”

The timing of the fans’ effort was rather awkward, with it being revealed ahead of kick off that the Italian has handed in a transfer request.

The Athletic claim that the 19-year-old has submitted the written demand to the Whites’ board amid intense interest from Everton.

Everton beat Leeds to Premier League survival last season, and are looking to add goals up front, with Gnonto a top candidate.

The most recent offer from Goodison Park was worth £25million with add-ons, and Gnonto has since withdrawn Leeds’ squad.

The Italy international started Leeds’ first game back in the second tier, a 2-2 draw with Cardiff, but has since been nowhere to be seen, and fans have now given their response.

Gnonto joined Leeds last summer from Zurich on a five-year deal, giving Daniel Farke’s side plenty of scope to demand more money.

It appears Farke won’t have so much luck holding on to star winger Jack Harrison, who looks set to join Everton, despite late interest from Aston Villa.
