A late double by Darwin Nunez gave ten-man Liverpool an unlikely 2-1 win over Newcastle at St James’ Park.
It appeared it was going to be a very long afternoon for Jurgen Klopp’s side when they found themselves a goal and a man down at half time.

But the visitors showed plenty of grit at St James’ Park before Nunez’s 81st minute strike from an acute angle levelled the scores.
And they were rewarded for their resolve in stoppage-time when Nunez swept home the winner to send the travelling Reds fans wild.
Earlier, former Liverpool academy player Anthony Gordon opened the scoring as he took advantage of Trent Alexander-Arnold’s mistake.
Virgil van Dijk was then sent off for swiping Magpies forward Alexander Isak.
