Jurrien Timber blown away by Martin Odegaard and Arsenal teammates’ heartwarming gesture

Jurrien Timber has hailed Arsenal after they paid tribute to him during and after the win at Crystal Palace.

The Gunners were without their new left back for the trip to Selhurst Park, but still ground out a 1-0 victory over their London rivals.

Timber, who signed from Ajax for £38million, suffered an Anterior Cruciate Ligament injury following a bright start against Nottingham Forest, meaning he could be ruled out for the rest of the season.

But despite being absent for Monday’s fixture, Arsenal made sure to let him know they were thinking of him.

The Gunners didn’t stop there, though.

They also posed for a photo in the dressing room after picking up three points, lifting Timber’s shirt once again.

The 22-year-old was clearly blown away by his team’s gestures, reposting the moment on his own Instagram.

“Team,” Timber wrote, alongside a blowing away emoji, a praying emoji, a red heart and a clapping emoji.

Gunners star Reiss Nelson posted the photo on his Instagram story too, tagging Timber and adding two red hearts.

Arsenal’s sporting director Edu sent his support too, reposting the on-pitch photo of the tribute, posting the same message as Nelson.

Takehiro Tomiyasu stepped in for Timber on Monday night. The Japan international was sent off for a second yellow following a shirt pull in the second half.

However, the Gunners saw out their win despite losing another left back to suspension and now sit third in the league, level on points with top of the table Brighton and reigning Premier League champions Manchester City.
