Fans slam ’embarrassing’ Chelsea supporter over Mauricio Pochettino claim just two games into season
One Chelsea fan’s fears for Mauricio Pochettino have certainly not gone down well with some members of the fanbase.
The Argentine is the latest boss to take the hot-seat at the Blues after their dismal 12th place finish last season.
Pochettino’s life at Chelsea got off to good start over the summerGetty
But the result against West Ham is a cause for concern for one fanGetty
Pochettino was quick to make an impression after guiding Chelsea to an unbeaten pre-season campaign.
Despite a shaky opening half hour in their 1-1 draw against Liverpool, the rest of their performance was certainly encouraging.
However, a trip across London to West Ham ended in a 3-1 defeat and already leaves them 15th in the Premier League table.
Given how many new signings have been made over the past year it will take time for the team to gel, but one fan is already concerned.
Speaking to talkSPORT about Pochettino, Nick said: “At Chelsea there’s no patience, there’s no patience with anyone.
“It worked when we had Roman Abramovich, but I don’t think the American owners understand English football. The thing is, I just can’t see Pochettino lasting. We want winners at Chelsea and what’s Pochettino won in this country? Nothing.”
When asked by former Charlton, Newcastle and West Ham boss Alan Pardew if it bothered him that Pochettino used to manage Tottenham, he replied: “It does.
“Spurs are a team that play well but when it comes to stepping over that line and picking up that trophy, they can’t do it.”
Chelsea did in fact play well during spells of the gameGetty
However, other fans were by no means in agreement with him, with one taking to X and saying: “2 games in? Please stop, you are embarrassing us all.”
“We’re 2 games in ffs give the bloke a chance,” added another with a laughing emoji.
A third said: “Good god It has been two games, with an unbalanced squad with far too many players. Especially when not playing in Europe this season. It’s going to take a season, to work out the players in which he wants to keep.”
A rival Manchester United fan was revelling in it though as they said: “2 games and they’re turning on him already!”
But Pochettino will be hoping they can start to pick up the wins soonGetty
There is no doubt that Chelsea have an abundance of quality within their squad but fans may have to wait longer for it all to click.
Friday night’s game at home to Luton spells them with a perfect chance to pick up their first win of the campaign.
The absence of European football this season is also likely to boost their chances of success elsewhere.
Pochettino will be hoping to their hard work pays off as soon as possible before they pause for the international break.
