‘F*** VAR’ – Liverpool fans incensed at no penalty after ball hits Nicolas Jackson’s hand in Chelsea box
Liverpool fans couldn’t believe their team weren’t given a penalty after the ball struck the hand of Nicolas Jackson in the Chelsea box.
An inswinging corner from the left by Dominik Szoboszlai was met by the Blues forward before the ball bounced out of play, however, replays show the ball struck Jackson’s right hand.

VAR opted not to tell Anthony Taylor to give a penalty or to look at the incident himselfsky sports
Jackson’s hand was in line with his chest when it made contact with the ball and VAR reviewed the incident.
However, referee Anthony Taylor was not told to either award the penalty or review it on his pitchside monitor and play went on as normal.
It’s a decision that left a number of Liverpool fans incensed.
One fans said: “The most blatant handball you’ll see all season how was that not a pen?! #Lfc.”
This one added: “How the actual f*** is this not a penalty for #LFC? Just get rid of #VAR if it’s not even used for the clearest of handball penalties you’ll ever see.”
Another fan said: “How in the hell is that not a handball?? #LFC”
And this fan said: “F*** VAR, what a joke #handball #lfc #cheliv #epl”
