Eye-opening Arsenal statistic has fans saying ‘it’s time’ for David Raya to make the starting XI over Aaron Ramsdale

Arsenal’s lack of clean sheets at the Emirates Stadium has some fans calling for a change of personnel in goal.

The Gunners had to settle for a 2-2 draw against 10-man Fulham on Saturday that signalled the end of their winning streak.

It’s a result that has them 2nd in the Premier League table after three games, something that fans will surely be happy to see.

However, their defensive record on home turf at the Emirates Stadium is emerging as a concern for Arsenal.

Since the start of last season, Mikel Arteta’s side have kept just four clean sheets from 21 Premier League matches.

Those have come against Nottingham Forest, Newcastle, Everton and Wolves, with Fulham the only side to have a worse record with three.

Aaron Ramsdale has played in all of those games but despite his overall efforts for the club, some fans would rather David Raya.

Reacting to the statistic on X, one supporter said: “About time to start Raya.”

“David Raya, it’s time,” said another in agreement even though Raya is yet to make an appearance.

A third still seems to be a fan of Ramsdale but agrees to a change in goal: “We should start playing Raya for home games. Ps: this is not a Ramsdale slander.”

Raya and Ramsdale are friends and competitors in north London

“Raya about to eat good?” asked a fourth, with Arteta potentially having a big decision to make.

Raya signed from Brentford this summer in order to provide Ramsdale with competition in between the sticks.

The latter was partly at fault for Fulham’s first goal which was scored by Andreas Pereira inside the opening minute of the game.

Bukayo Saka made it 1-1 from the spot before Eddie Nketiah’s finish, only Joao Palhinha to ensure it was a point a piece at full-time.
