Kane is now free to make a decision on his future and Bayern have offered him a five-year contract.
The 30-year-old striker has entered the final year of his Tottenham deal and recently rejected new terms worth £400,000-a-week.
Looking to ahead to Man City‘s clash with Burnley on Friday night in the Premier League, Guardiola looked perplexed at hearing the latest news on Kane.
“It is done? Officially?” he asked reporters, before being told not yet.
“Everybody knows [on Kane’s qualities]. Just take a look at him and his good he is. Exceptional striker.
“Top attributes, right, left, dropping, quality to play assists, score goals in the box, score goals arriving, so an exceptional striker.
“He has shown it in many many years. Just Alan Shearer is in front of him as the top goalscorer of all time.”
Kane is Spurs’ all-time top scorer with 280 goals in 435 appearances.

Despite his continued heroics, the England international has been left without a major trophy to show for his 19 years at Tottenham.
He was linked with Manchester United earlier in the summer, before Bayern Munich made it clear he was their main target.
Kane is thought to be enjoying life under new manager Ange Postecoglou and could yet decide to stay in north London.
Postecoglou revealed an ‘ongoing dialogue’ with Kane over his future after the forward bagged four goals against Shakhtar Donetsk in a pre-season friendly on Sunday.
