England fans have nightmares of Ronaldinho lob against David Seaman after Colombia goal against Lionesses

Colombia gave England fans flashbacks to Ronaldinho’s lob on David Seaman as they went ahead against the Lionesses at the Women’s World Cup.

Sarina Wiegman’s side conceded just before half-time thanks to a stunning effort from Leicy Santos, with the Colombia star sending in a looped cross turned shot from the edge of the box.

Earps couldn’t get a hand on it and watched it sail over her head, and England fans immediately compared it to Brazil legend Ronaldinho’s free-kick in 2002 that caught Seaman out.

“It’s Ronaldinho and Seaman all over again!” one fan wrote on Twitter.

“That’s a David Seaman moment,” another supporter said.

But just as the Lionesses thought they’d go in to halftime at the quarter-finals behind, Lauren Hemp capitalised on some slopping defending from the South Americans.

The Man City star tapped in from close range, pulling her side back level and keeping their World Cup hopes alive.
