Crystal Palace v Arsenal preview

Both of these teams started their season with an opening day victory last weekend, giving them the perfect start to build on as they look to improve on last season’s efforts.

Arsenal, fresh from their victory in the Community Shield the week before, started their season off with a 2-1 home win over Nottingham Forest.

Eddie Nketiah and Bukayo Saka scored the Gunners’ goals in the first half before Forest grabbed one back in the second, but Mikel Arteta’s side held on for the three points.

After leading the league for so much of last season and falling away at the business end, Arteta and co are aiming to go one step further this time out and win their first Premier League title since 2004.

Crystal Palace also started their season with a win under their new permanent manager, Roy Hodgson, with a 1-0 win over last season’s Championship runners up Sheffield United at Bramall Lane.

Odsonne Edouard scored the only goal of the game early in the second half to send the Eagles back down to South London with all three points.

Palace finished last season in 11th place and will be happy with a similarly placed finish this time around having lost their most influential player in Wilfried Zaha this summer, and key playmaker Michael Olise also rumoured to be leaving.

Arsenal did the double over Crystal Palace last season, and have only lost on one of their last six visits to Selhurst Park.

Hodgson is winless in his four previous managerial encounters with Arteta, and has lost his last two meetings with the Spaniard.

Crystal Palace v Arsenal betting tips

Arsenal striker Eddie Nketiah scored their first goal of the season last weekend, standing in for the injured Gabriel Jesus, and talkSPORT BET have boosted the odds for the English striker to score the only goal of the game to a tempting 33/1.

Selhurst Park has become a tricky place to play for visiting teams to play in recent seasons, and the team and fans will be well up for a London derby against Arsenal under the lights for their first home game of the season.

The tough atmosphere could cause the Gunners to struggle, and talkSPORT BET have also boosted the odds of a 1-1 draw to 15/2, which could be well worth a punt.
