Chelsea’s final pre-season fixture in the USA sees them take on Borussia Dortmund in a mouth-watering encounter ahead of the start of the new Premier League season.

Frank Lampard’s side have had an impressive pre-season so far, impressing against English opposition during their tour of Japan, Ireland and now America.

As the curtain comes down on their pre-season preparations, the Blues will be looking to maintain their unbeaten record and add one more scalp to their collection as they take on some of the more illustrious sides on the world stage.

Borussia Dortmund pose a significant challenge. With the Bundesliga season already underway, Dortmund have been in impressive form, having won three and drawn one of their opening games.

The two sides have never faced each other in a competitive match before, but have met in friendly matches in the past.

The showdown between the two teams will take place at the National Stadium in Indianapolis; kick-off for UK viewers is scheduled for 8 p.m. GMT.

Team news for the fixture looks set to be positive for the Blues. With Christian Pulisic side-lined with an injury, Callum Hudson-Odoi is likely to lead the attack, supported by Mason Mount and Ross Barkley.

At the back, Antonio Rudiger and Andreas Christensen are expected to form the central defensive partnership, with Cesar Azpilicueta and Marcos Alonso providing the defensive width from fullback.

The much vaunted trio of Jadon Sancho, Marco Reus and Paco Alcacer will pose a major threat for Dortmund, with the former particularly impressing against the Blues in the past.

The match will not be shown live on UK television, but fans can follow all the action on the club’s official Twitter account.

This promises to be an interesting match between two top sides in the mainstream of European club football, each keen to underline their credentials ahead of the new season.
