UEFA have now confirmed the seedings for the 2023/24 Champions League group stage draw.
There were jubilant scenes as City won the Champions Leaguegetty
Europa League winners Sevilla will be joining Pep Guardiola’s side in Pot 1 alongside the champions from Europe’s top six leagues.
But due to Champions League winners City also claiming the Premier League title, their domestic spot passes to Eredivisie’s top side Feyenoord.
This has left some huge teams in Pot 2, with Manchester United and Arsenal joining 14-time winners Real Madrid in getting a tough group.
Newcastle will be placed in Pot 4 due to their low coefficient having not played in Europe for 20 years.
They will be joined by Union Berlin and Lens who are also in the lowest seed due to their lack of Champions League experience.
Six teams still need to go through the qualifying rounds to earn a place in the Champions League group stages.
And qualifying for those six spots is now well underway.
It has now reached the final play-off round, so the teams that are currently unsure about their spot will find out where they will be placed soon.
