Arsenal fans question Jurrien Timber decision as new star suffers worrying injury
Arsenal fans have been left wondering why Jurrien Timber was allowed to play in the second half after he went off injured.
The centre-back made his Premier League debut for the Gunners against Nottingham Forest after a delayed kick-off.

Arsenal cruised into a 2-0 lead thanks to Eddie Nketiah’s low strike and Bukayo Saka’s curling finish.
Towards the end of the first half, Timber went down but appeared OK to carry on until the break.
However, just seconds into the second half, he suffered a worrying-looking injury and had to be substituted for Takehiro Tomiyasu.
“It looked like his calf popped on the back of his right leg, or it might have been his knee,” said talkSPORT’s Sam Matterface. “Either way, he immediately signalled to the bench.
“That really doesn’t look good,” said Scott Minto. “For someone who’s trying to make a name for himself in an Arsenal shirt, who I think could do really well.”
Minto added: “He looks like he could well be a first-teamer for Arsenal but he might not be a first-teamer for a period of time now.”
Arsenal fans vented their frustration at Mikel Arteta and the medical team for failing to take Timber off at half-time after the first hint of an injury.
One supporter said on Twitter: “Timber should’ve been changed at HT… f*** me!!”
“Why would [Mikel] Arteta risk Timber after he was clearly very uncomfortable smfh this guy always running players to the brink,” added another.
A third wrote: “Surprised he came out for the second half especially as first game of the season.”
The full extent of Timber’s injury remains to be seen.
