Andre Onana goes from celebrating with Manchester United fans to telling teammates to calm down in crazy minute
Andre Onana experienced a whirlwind of emotions in just a minute of football at the Emirates Stadium. The Manchester United goalkeeper, known for his vibrant personality both on and off the pitch, had his reactions captured by the cameras during a chaotic period of play against Arsenal.
Initially, Onana was ecstatic when Marcus Rashford scored the opening goal for United. Pumping his fists in celebration towards the traveling Red Devils fans, he relished in the team’s strong start, which has been lacking this season.
However, the joy was short-lived as Arsenal quickly equalized. Gabriel Martinelli found space during an impressive passing move and set up captain Martin Odegaard, who expertly finished the chance. Onana, displaying his leadership qualities, immediately urged his teammates to remain calm, waving his arms to signal composure.
It was a rollercoaster of emotions for Onana, from delight to disappointment in a matter of seconds. This incident highlights the unpredictable nature of football and the intensity of emotions it can evoke.

Ajax goalkeeper Andre Onana went from celebrating with ecstatic Manchester United fans to defusing a mini scuffle between teammates in a passing of minute at the Johan Cruyff ArenA on Thursday night.
The United supporters in the away section of the stadium made their presence felt during the team’s stunning UEFA Champions League upset of Ajax, chanting and singing nonstop throughout the match.
But just moments after wide-eyed United fans erupted into jubilation following the final whistle, any elation at the win was gone for Onana due to a kerfuffle that broke out in the Ajax side.
The Cameroon international had to get involved in separating his teammates, telling them to calm down.
The drama unfolded with the cameras rolling, with a scrap breaking out between several of the players. Onana ran over in an effort to keep the calm, trying to convince some of his footballing buddies to calm down. He even jokingly opened up his arms and said: “What do you want me to do? Make peace?”
The 23-year-old was then shown going back to the dressing rooms, with both sides having celebrated joyfully before their dispute.
After the fight was eventually diffused and the Ajax players returned to their changerooms, Onana was understandably disappointed at the incident but explained the incident and his attempt to quell it in his post-match interview to FOX Sports Netherlands,
“We were doing the lap of honour around the stadium after the defeat and then this happened. Of course I was very sorry that it happened, that’s not the image of a professional club. I told them it was enough, they had to calm down and that’s how it ended,” Onana said.
This event, which could have further marred a sour result, was quickly diffused by the level-headed Onana and the Ajax team ultimately departed with their heads held high, knowing their keeper had done his part to ensure the entire club was respected in the heat of a difficult moment.
