Al Hilal fans facing five-day wait for Neymar No.10 shirts as Brazilian star prepares for Saudi Arabia unveiling

Al Hilal supporters have been flocking to the club’s official shop to buy Neymar merchandise ahead of the Brazilian’s unveiling.

But they have been hit with a five-day wait to actually get their hands on his shirt, as talkSPORT’s Saudi Arabia football correspondent Ben Jacobs reports in the video above.

Club staff are working around the clock to meet demand, with around 1,200 Neymar No.10 shirts being produced a day, but it’s still not enough to satisfy the volume of orders.

Neymar is the Saudi Pro League’s latest superstar arrival, with the Brazil posterboy signing for Al-Hilal from Paris Saint-Germain in a deal worth over £75million.

Joining Al-Nassr’s Cristiano Ronaldo in Riyadh as the Middle East’s next big-name import, Neymar has signed a two-year contract which will see him earn around £170m-per-year.

The 31-year-old has also been given a 25-room mansion in the Saudi capital as part of the deal.

Neymar will be paraded to fans at around 3:30pm UK time on Saturday ahead of Al-Hilal’s fixture against Al Fayha, before an official signing ceremony on Sunday.

He joins Ruben Neves, Kalidou Koulibaly and Sergej Milinkovic-Savic at the club – the most decorated club in Asia – but, as expected, the demand for Neymar shirts has been huge.

So much so, that many supporters will not be able to get their hands on one in time for this weekend’s unveiling.

The King Fahd International Stadium is expected to be awash with blue No.10 jerseys in time for Neymar’s home debut, though, which is likely to be against Steven Gerrard and Jordan Henderson’s Al-Ettifaq on Monday, August 28.
